ROLO Study
We explore how pregnancy and maternal health during pregnancy influence both child health and the mother’s long-term reproductive health.
The ROLO study is a unique longitudinal birth cohort study involving 700 mothers recruited in early pregnancy. Over the past 10 years, we’ve had the privilege of following these mothers and their children, gathering invaluable insights into their health and development.
This type of research is vital as it provides a comprehensive view of a woman’s health across her life course. By tracking health from pregnancy to later life, we can better understand how pregnancy-related factors contribute to conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and osteoporosis. The ROLO study offers critical data that can help us identify risk factors and improve long-term health outcomes for women and their families.
